Queen Hatshepsut's temple on the west bank of the nile

Deir el-Medina, the town of the people who contructed most of the tombs

Medinet Habu, a remarkably large and well preserved temple just south of Deir el Medina.

Crossing the Nile back to the east bank of Luxor

Karnak temple just north of Luxor. Heavily restored it is amazing just for its sheer size

After Luxor, we flew to Sharm el Shiek for a few days to do lots of snorkling and just plain pool sitting

Next we were on to Cairo, which gave us incredibly easy access to the Pyramids. From this spot we are 20 minutes from downtown Cairo!

Alexander is always a softy for Camels...

Next to the great pryamid of Khufu (Cheops) were the Queen's Pyramids

And just beyond all of this was the Sphinx, surprisingly small after seeing the Pyramids.
